Did you  know that Isabella of France  was  called a  she-wolf  for  her  ferocious  revenge  she  took  on her husband Edward  II ?

Yes its always about love with these things.

Okay so this one is not much about werewolves  but the fact that  a woman named  Isabella  of  France was called  a  she -wolf  is rather  interesting.  How ferocious  was she  in this revenge  to  get  the name she wolf? What  did  her husband do  to get her  this angry ? Well let’s  look at  the story  and  my  annotated retelling  about her. 

Isabella  was  born in  the 1200s  of France. Her father  matched her up with Edward II at a  very young age   and by  the time  she was a  teenager  she married him . But    Edward  II  was  actually taking  lovers and so ignoring Isabella . After being with him  for   a while   she devised plans to get  rid of him and take over the kingdom .

In my opinion  based  on my research  he was pretty  nasty  to  her  and  she had to compete for his attention   especially after having her  first child when his  first lover was  killed.  

He took on another lover. Ignored  her some more and this time  around  tried  to kill her  and banish  her from the kingdom. She went back to her child hood home country of France  for a  while  and  eventually asked for her  son Edward III who she  managed a wedding   proposal with Philippa of  Hainault . This arrangement allowed  her  to build an army  of  sorts to take down  her  husband  and get her kingdom back .

After a while  she herself took a lover and with him they kind of  brutalized , marched over  England  and   took the country back without  much  blood shed.  She captured  her  husband(some sources  say that she  and her  lover ordered his death),  killed  his  lover and   was  able to  end  the  Scottish Wars .  

She  was  able  to rule as  regent for fourteen years.  However , she  was  blood thirsty  for more  power and killed many in  her reign .  So maybe that is how she got the title  she wolf, who  knows ?   All and all  it  started  with a  heartbroken  woman  who only  just wanted  to love her husband .
