Here are 4 sites that will help new authors in book promotion.
Today I spent the time researching book promotion. So I’m finishing up the 2nd draft of my first novel During the Blue Hour. A paranormal fantasy novel about a different kind of werewolf . If you want to read what’s it about you can on the about page . Well I have 9 chapters to go. I’m going to be self-publishing it. However, I’m nowhere near ready as of yet. I’m still going to revise and write one more quick draft before its completion.
Although I’m working on this big werewolf novel I also have a short story anthologies that are going to be a part of the Blue Hour Series. Yes it’s going to be a series of six books all together. You can check the list out here of all the short stories that I’m currently writing for the series as well.
Along with the Blue Hour werewolf series I’m working on another series called the Mictlan Series . That series is also a paranormal series however it has nothing to do with werewolves but everything to do with Aztec mythology and the gods and goddesses of the Aztec .
Right now the series has started to be published on Amazon with Sofia’s Journey . You can check out that book and leave a review about it if you like it. But I’m continuing with the story on Vella with The Journey Begins. You can also check that out as well.
With these books already being published and my plans for publishing During the Blue Hour I have to research book promotion cause books wont’ promote themselves. What I have to say about it is that it is hard work. Tiring and frustrating. Even though I’ve been writing for over twenty years and won a couple of contest and had my work produced at theatres as a playwriter and screenwriter I don’t really have a following. I never had to promote my work . So I guess I would be considered a new author when it comes to novel writing. So how do I get my book out there for people to see and read if I’m a new author?
Well through my research so far I found these sites that help promote books for new authors . Some of them are free and some are at a cost but I’ll list my 4 favorite down below .
Through my search today I also found that you have to make sure your book is under correct keywords so it can be found through google and amazon by readers. I found that daunting as well. Trying to find the best keywords to match my book. It’s taken forever to find the right keywords but there are keywords searches that are offered in ordered to search for the best ones.
This is what I figured out today as a new author; that book promotion is a journey that writers must go on if they want readers to read their work. There must be a lot of research done. I also found out it does take time and patience . It doesn’t happen overnight . It could take weeks, months , years even for the self-promotion journey to pay off.
I’m willing to continuing to go on this journey and so I will keep you posted .
